Taking Chances
A Study on Philemon
Relationships are about taking chances. When you make the decision to have a dog you take a chance on chewed-up toilet paper and muddy feet and chewed-up toys but you also take a chance on love. The same is true in relationships only on an even grander scale.
The Book of Philemon is a letter in which Paul very skillfully reminds Philemon and us of the great truths of Christ at work in the life of every believer. Christ was the ultimate chance taker. He took a chance on us so that we too may take a chance on faith and love.
Faith and love form the foundation of relationships and are the two biggest areas where chances must be taken. Taking chances does not come without risk but when you do, faith and love are the areas where the greatest rewards happen. Are you willing to trust God and take chances in your life in faith and love?
